“The Prize Fight II”


THEME: FIRE and ICE

OBJECTIVE: Create the best Animated Fantasy Creature with a FIRE and ICE Theme!!
Your Fantasy Creature, and/or the scene it’s in, MUST have a fire or ice theme (or a mix of both fire and ice).



THE CONTEST & PRIZES



Round 1

Objective: Hand draw, (sketch) your Fantasy Creature (with a fire and/or ice theme). Your choice of a medium, but preferably something that will scan well into the computer. You can use Photoshop, Paintshop etc. to create your drawing. Then take your sketch into CINEMA 4D R10 (if you do not currently own CINEMA 4D R10, download the demo at www.maxon.net) and drop it as a texture into the pre-built scene WE HAVE PROVIDED. You can adapt the canvas to suit the size of your image, change the canvas bump and highlight, change lighting color and adjust shadows etc. You CANNOT change the camera view. It must remain the same. Once you are happy with your results, render your final image. If you are using the CINEMA 4D demo, render your image, and take a screen-shot. The top 3 entrants will WIN CINEMA 4D R10 (core package which now includes BodyPaint R3).

Note: If you are already a registered owner of CINEMA 4D R10 you will be awarded one module of your choice instead of the CINEMA 4D R10 core package.

All entrants then advance to Round 2. If you win Round 1, you commit to completing Round 2.

Round 2

Objective: Use a legal registered copy of CINEMA 4D (any release) to model and texture your Fantasy Creature (the same creature from Round 1) and the scene it will be in. The top 2 entrants will WIN the CINEMA 4D XL Bundle*, and all entrants advance to Round 3. (To participate in Round 2, you must have contributed to Round 1). If you win Round 2, you commit to completing Round 3.

Round 3

Objective: Use a legal registered copy of CINEMA 4D (any release) to animate your Fantasy Character (the same creature from Rounds 1 and 2). The best animation will win the CINEMA 4D R10 Studio Bundle.**(To participate in Round 3, you must have contributed to Rounds 1 and 2)

DATES:
Round 1; May 7, 2007 – May 23, 2007
Round 2; June 4, 2007 – July 9, 2007
Round 3; July 23, 2007 - August 27, 2007





REQUIREMENTS:

1.) Must register on the 3dattack.net website, to be eligible.

2.) Must meet each deadline for the contest. (If you are late in any “round” you will be disqualified).

3.) Must finish the contest. (If you sign up and don’t complete each “round” you will be disqualified).

4.) When opening your contest thread you must open it with your real first and last name, not a nick-name.

5.) All modeling and animation must be done with a legal registered copy of a 3D Application of your choice.

6.) Round 1 – Must submit at least 2 WIP’s (work in progress) of your character. May submit up to 3 poses of your completed character drawing. (must be the same character and dropped into the scene provided). Your final rendering(s) must be at least 800x600 or larger (have larger resolutions available upon request.).

7.) Round 2 – Must submit at least 5 WIP’s (work in progress of your character model). At least one untextured WIP and one textured WIP and one wireframe WIP. May submit up to 3 poses of your final character model. Your final scene must be marked final with your name on the lower left hand corner of your image. Your final rendering must be at least 800x600 or larger (have larger resolutions available upon request).

8.) Round 3 - All animation submissions must be in AVI, Mpeg, or .mov (QuickTime). Use standard codec’s for viewing ease of the judges. Must show at least one WIP of rig and one WIP of rig in motion. Must also show 3 single .jpg frames (start -middle-end). If you do not follow these rules to the letter you will be disqualified from Round 3. Your final animation must be 10 to 30 seconds in length and posted in the appropriate FINALS thread. Your animation length may be over 30 seconds, but we will only judge the first 30. They must also be at a minimum of 480x360 screen resolution. You must use the character you started this competition with.

9.) The Fantasy Character you start Round 1 with must be the same character you finish the contest with.

10.) If you win any one of the three rounds, you must supply MAXON and 3D Attack with your name, telephone number, and correct mailing address.

11.) Sexually explicit, graphically violent, religious or political artwork is grounds for disqualification. This assessment is at the discretion of 3D Attack and MAXON


There are no restrictions on content other than those outlined in the rules.

MAXON encourages entrants to have larger, hi-res versions available (Sometimes they will use entries for promotional purposes). Entrants agree to allow MAXON and 3D Attack to use their images/animations, and understand that credit will be given to the artist.


JUDGING:

A panel made up of staff from MAXON and 3D Attack will perform the judging.
Judges will be looking for images that show an undeniable level of excellence or uniqueness. Images will be judged based on general art technique and aesthetic.

Contest entrants agree to be bound by the terms of these official rules. The laws of the United States govern this Competition. All federal, state and local laws and regulations apply. By entering, participants release and hold harmless sponsors and their respective subsidiaries, affiliates, directors, officers, prize suppliers, employees and/or agents from any and all liability or any injuries, loss or damage of any kind arising from or in connection with this Competition or acceptance or use of any prize won.

* The winners will receive the additional modules, that when combined with CINEMA 4D (core package), comprise a full CINEMA 4D XL Bundle.

** The winner will receive the additional modules, that when combined with the CINEMA 4D XL Bundle, comprise a full Studio Bundle.


Terms and Conditions:

1.) Entrants agree to give permission to MAXON Computer Inc. (hereinafter the 'Company') to use all or any part of the artwork entered in this contest, (hereinafter, the 'Work') in the Company's demonstration tapes (reels), promotional materials (ads, PR, etc.), booth graphics and presentations for the promotional purposes.

2.) Entrants understand that the Work may be used in the Company's demonstration tapes, promotional materials and presentations and may be distributed worldwide.

3.) Entrants will retain all rights to the Work. In addition, the Company will not sell for profit any materials or demo reels containing images or animations submitted by the Entrant.

4.) The Company, in exchange for this release, will provide a credit for the Work within the material in which the Work is used.

5.) Submissions must be the sole Work of the entrant and not require approval of any other entity.

6.) Entrants will not receive financial remuneration for their Work.

7.) MAXON reserves the right to cancel the contest at any time and not award prizes.

c'est tres sympa mais c'est un peu lourd que ce soit sytématiquement une animaton.... :coup:

Allez hop, je m'y rejette, même si je ne suis pas sûr d'avoir le temps... :roll:
Nikolas, le but est d'apprendre toutes les facettes du soft et de pousser un peu plus les temps de réalisation du concours.

Kolas tu fais les 2 1ers rounds et je te fais le 3eme si tu veux :mrgreen: .. mais chuut ça reste entre nous 8)
