Hello everybody,
well i can not speak french at all, but at least i would love to participate a bit in this great forum.
Well at the moment i am doing a Logo-Animation for a friend who is a DJ here in germany.
His Logo contains the letters "DJSF" and i started to animate the first letter "D"
I just start to learn rigging and animation with R10 (never did in 9.x ) so i would be very happy to get some feedback of you all
The first test is a simple "expression walkcylce":
http://www.neosushi.net/DJSF/char_test_001.mov
The seccond test is an "activate and run" test :

Thnx so much for helping me out on this one.
All the best
::neosushi::
Hey David ! Merry Christmas to you, late but with hearth.
Nice animations, very convincing camera mouvements. Really dynamic content. Nothing to crit for me. For the second test, I don't like so much the symetrical legs jumps, I think you will obtain more dynamic poses with something different for each leg. And maybe the footroll is a bit strange inside the jump, convincing in run and walk, but not in jump. Hope you will understand what I mean with my bad english. I'm very happy to follow you in this thread ! :bounce:

Hey thnx Aurety,
and of course i wish you a merry x-mas to It's never to late Thnx so much for you crits, i really
appriciate them and also chamge that symmetrical thing within the jump. Check this out (did you mean that ?):
Aurety wrote:
what exactly do you mean, i don't seem to understand this. Do you think it doesn't look like he's trying to start walking after the jump ?And maybe the footroll is a bit strange inside the jump, convincing in run and walk, but not in jump
Thnx once more Aurety ad all others whom about to help me out
PS: Aurety, your english is way better then my french
Well I think : How much D-Legs Characters are gymnasts too, maybe just one, yours... but unfortunaltly all the other D-Legs are like me, we don't straight up the foot in the Jump, we are more ridiculous but because it's common, nobody tell us how much we are... :-)Envoyé par neosushi
So I think, it will look more natural to rotate the heel to remove the straight looking in the jump.
And Yeah, I think your non-symetrical adaptation is more natural.

I find that it is a beautiful animation  , but just when the letter falls, it does not fall on the feet on the letter. You should make an effect of weight with the legs with the landing.
I hope that you understood me ^^
Or else it's perfect, good luck for the continuation.
Welcome neosushi,
I'm impressed by both animations. I'm not an animation specialist, so I'll let others criticize your job.
For my part, I'll say that I love the camera and the character movements. Very dynamic ! :prie:
I watched the landing and I didn't notice a problem with the weigth of the thing because it seems to hit the ground, but like I said, I'm not an expert.
In any case, congrat for your job. I really like it.

I really appreciate the camera effect and the character moves.
Sorry, i'd like to give you a better feedback but i'm not an animation expert, i just give you my feelings...
Please keep us informed about the project and share your experiences, that's really interessant

Wow thnx for the great feedback you guys
Well i have appriciated all of your comments regarding symmetry of legsa and a bit more weight in the landing.
You can check the second version out here:

thnx and keep going guys
cheers

HelloOoooo :odile:
Fistly forgive my english
I think you souhld move a bit the letter during its jump. I feel it'd give a more realistic movement. There it is too rigid.
Otherwise that's excellent, I love
hey neosuchi! terrific! It's alive
Allready very great, I would have banked this D a very little tiny bit more (from hips, side to side) in startup, no?
Well since it's very fast, not sure it won't become too unreadable? Sometime simple is the best !
Keep it up
and sorry for my poor english

Thnx shtl for he hint with the hips,
well i guess it's a bit fast, maybe to fast ?? Should i slow the animation a bit more ?
At the moment i like the timeing alot, if it's slower maybe it looks lame, hmmm no idea, maybe someone else ???
cheers
::neosushi::
I like it's fast too. Maybe decrease just a bit tne motion blur effect, but really I like it like this.
kenavo !! // Pinterest KAMIGAZ®
nonono it is perfect, don't change the timing. I meant that if you'd bank the D it might be to much informations for the laps of time

Hello, I am only one neophyte in animation. Nevertheless, your video “activate2” is very realistic. Imbalance in the jump is excellent. Like says it Aurety, the blur effect is too important. Live neosushi the Great.
PS: thank you with the Google translator
Age quod agis
The Blur effect is wonderful !
I agree about one point with Aurety : Just when it has jumped, youy shoukd generate à dissymetry betwenn the legs...
Otherwise, the running sequence is clearly very dynamic, I love it !
For a beginner with the rigging process, you're very good !
Kind regards, Franck !

wow! I'm impressed by the animation
but i dislike the background music  I find it doesn't represent a DJ (your friend)
good luck

Hello Pyerow,
the music is not the final one. He is a DJ for black music and will get some fat beatz to the animation
At the moment i just used the sounds so that there is at least something
Thnx for the comment by the way
you guys rock, i will try to get some more done this week.
cheers

Here is an update version of the JumNRun test movie.
I tried to give it more weight on the landing part and also adjusted the floor so it won't float above it anymore. Any crits & comments are always welcome

::neosushi::
Well looks very great again!
You can go further ... :bounce:
If you really need a crits, it would be from me to get something like 5 or 10 frames beetwen the waking sequence and before jumping.
This time I'm talking about more frames ya !

:o
I just discovered this topic and...
Wonderful job neosushi !! :prie:
I really love the dynamism of your animations !
To make this post a bit more constructive, I think the previous camera movement for the JumNRun animation was better than the last you posted.
Congratulations for your incredible work! :poucehaut:
and please excuse me for my english
